The recipe I’m going to explain is Italian nut balls.
It is very easy to make and it is the most delicious cookie in the world.
These are the ingredients you will need to make them:
8 oz sugar
1 teaspoon salt
8 oz soft butter
2 egg yolks (save whites)
½ teaspoon vanilla
½ almond extract
24 oz flour
2 egg whites
12 chopped pecans
6 oz jelly
A dash of cinnamon
1. First, combine first 6 ingredients; blend
2. Then, add flour gradually, blend well.
3. Next, roll dough into 2.5 cm balls. Dip into egg whites (slightly beaten). Place on greased cookie sheet about 2 inches apart.
4. After that, make a deep depression in the center of each cookie with thumb.
5. Then, Bake at 177 degrees celsius for10 to 12 minutes, until firm. Do not overbake.
6. Finally, while cookies are warm fill with jelly. Allow jelly to set before storing cookies (about 15 minutes).
I like eating them with a cup of tea or coffee.
